THEQC Students Commission Gathers Students’ Quality Societies in İzmir

The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Students Commission participated in the event titled “Experience-Sharing and Good Practice Examples in Accreditation Journey of İzmir Universities Students’ Quality Societies” hosted by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University on December 18, 2025. Quality ambassadors from six different HEIs in İzmir participated in the event organised to strengthen the position of quality ambassadors, who are among the important stakeholders of the internal quality assurance system, in the students’ quality societies.

Rector Prof. Saffet Köse delivered the opening speech of the event, which was organised by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University students’ quality society and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports within the scope of ÜNİDES (University Student Societies Cooperation and Support Program). Asst. Prof. Songül Vargün, THEQC Expert and THEQC Students Commission Academic Coordinator, and Kadir Özkan, the Commission Vice-Chair, attended the seminar as speakers.

In the event, which was widely attended by students from different universities in İzmir as well as academic and administrative staff, information was given about the basic principles of the internal quality assurance system, the role of quality societies in the processes and the work carried out by the THEQC Students Commission with quality societies. The event ended with a Q&A session where participants’ questions were answered.
