Based in Washington (USA), CHEA is widely regarded as an umbrella organization for higher education institutions, accreditation bodies and quality assurance agencies. Launched in 1996, the Council focuses on adding value to higher education through international and national cooperation and expertise sharing.

As part of the cooperation between CIQG and THEQC, the parties will be working on many topics such as mutual policy sharing, collaboration and consultancy studies, access to group-specific research resources and reports, as well as representation at international events.

Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) has been approved as a member of International Quality Group (CIQG) by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
