Presentation Ceremony of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University’s Institutional Accreditation Certificate

Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.

Rector Prof. Fatih Yılmaz, the university’s governing body, Senate members and staff from quality units attended the program organised on 13 June 2025 at the university rectorate building.

President Kocabıçak made a presentation on “The Importance of Accreditation in Universities and the Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education”. Giving examples of quality assurance systems in higher education in the world,  he talked about the quality assurance and accreditation practices carried out by THEQC in Türkiye. Emphasising that accreditation processes are now of strategic importance for universities, he provided information about the place of artificial intelligence in higher education and the possible contributions of such technologies to quality assurance processes. In his speech, President Kocabıçak also discussed issues such as the dissemination of quality culture in higher education, the understanding of continuous improvement and the responsibilities of institutions in this process.

At the end of the program, President Kocabıçak presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate to Rector Yılmaz.
