Results of the 2024 Higher Education Institution Evaluations Are Discussed in Closing Meetings
Closing meetings were held for higher education institutions whose evaluations were completed in 2024 in the scope of the Institutional External Evaluation Program, Institutional Accreditation Program, and Follow-up Program carried out by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC).
The meetings, which were held online on 14-15 April 2025 to review the current status of the evaluation processes, especially the Institutional Accreditation Program and the data obtained, receive feedback, and determine a roadmap in this framework, were attended by the evaluation team leaders served in the relevant programs and the managers/directors of the universities whose evaluations were completed.
Meetings moderated by Asst. Prof. Sibel Orhan Yıldız and Dr Resul Telli were held in sessions, and Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, THEQC President, and Prof. Mustafa Çufalı, THEQC Vice President, gave the opening speeches of the sessions.
President Kocabıçak reminded that 35 HEIs were evaluated within the scope of Institutional Accreditation in 2024 and the results were announced in March, and stated that THEQC organised the meetings to have the opinions of the university managers/directors and evaluation teams as a result of the evaluation processes. He thanked the participants for their efforts in the process and expressed his belief that the meetings would be very useful in the context of continuous improvement to increase the quality of the Turkish higher education system.
Participants had the opportunity to share their experience in the evaluation processes, and their questions were answered.
