THEQC Gives the Third and Last Training of the 2024 Evaluator Training Program in Izmir
IZMIR – The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) organised the third and last stage of the “2024 Evaluator Training for Institutional Accreditation and External Evaluation Programs” for evaluators, who will work in evaluation teams of higher education institutions, in Izmir.
The training hosted by Ege University (EU) was held on 10 September 2024 with the participation of evaluators from different higher education institutions. Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, THEQC President, and Prof. Necdet Budak, EU Rector, gave the opening speeches.
President Kocabıçak stated that THEQC continued the training in Ankara and Istanbul with Izmir and conveyed that THEQC aimed to bring together novice and experienced evaluators and ensure experience-sharing. Stating that approximately 400 evaluator candidates participated in the training organised in three provinces, Prof. Kocabıçak continued with a presentation on the activities of THEQC and the current status of quality assurance in higher education in Türkiye.
Rector Budak also noted that he was pleased to host the training program organised by THEQC.
During the day-long training, the evaluators discussed and shared information on what to do during the site visit process through case studies and group work on Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) review, pre-site visit preparatory work, site visit simulation and Institutional Accreditation Report (IAR) writing.
