The Second Meeting of the 2024 Evaluator Training Is Held in Istanbul

ANKARA – The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) organised the second stage of the “2024 Evaluator Training for Institutional Accreditation and External Evaluation Programs” for evaluators, who will work in evaluation teams of higher education institutions, in Istanbul.

Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, THEQC President, and Prof. Hasan Mandal, Rector of Istanbul Technical University, gave the opening speeches of the training organised on 5 September 2024 at ITU, with the attendance of evaluators from several higher education institutions. President Kocabıçak stated that THEQC conducted the training in Istanbul to restart the face-to-face training because it was not given due to the pandemic. Stating that THEQC aimed to bring together the experienced and novice evaluators at this training, he continued with a presentation on the activities of THEQC and the current status of quality assurance in higher education in Türkiye.

During the training, the evaluators discussed and shared information on what to do during the site visit process through case studies and group work on Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) review, pre-site visit preparatory work, site visit simulation and Institutional Accreditation Report (IAR) writing.
