THEQC Students Commission Holds a Seminar on “The Role of Higher Education Students in the Construction of a Quality Assurance Culture” at Kocaeli University

On 20 November 2023, the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Students Commission gave the 49th of the seminar series titled “The Role of Higher Education Students in the Construction of a Quality Assurance Culture” to raise student awareness about quality culture and have students take part in quality work actively at Kocaeli University (KOÜ).

Assoc. Prof. Gonca Uludağ, THEQC Students Commission Academic Coordinator, and Melike Gülay, THEQC Students Commission member, gave a speech at the seminar. Prof. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, KOÜ Rector, gave information about the university’s quality processes. The seminar was moderated by Asst. Prof. Hatice Esen, KOÜ Students Commission Coordinator, and Prof. Elif Öğüt and Prof. Mehmet Yıldırım, KOÜ Vice-Rectors, attended as listeners.

595 participants attended the seminar where students’ responsibilities were explained to receive a quality education. In addition to students, academic and administrative staff also showed great interest in the seminar. The seminar ended with answering the participants’ questions, awarding certificates of appreciation to the speakers, and taking a commemorative photo.
