THEQC Students Commission Attends the “European Qualifications Framework Level-5 Seminar” Organised by ENQA and CHAIN5
Ahmet Kayhan Korkusuz, the Vice-Chair of THEQC Students Commission, attended the webinar organised by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the Community of Practice for European Qualifications Framework Level 5 (CHAIN5) on 6 April 2023.
The importance of higher education institutions in terms of Vocational-Professional Education and Business Education was mentioned in the Level 5 training, on which ENQA and other higher education quality agencies of various countries focus. The training started with the presentation of Douglas Blackstock, ENQA President, and continued with the presentations of Bryan Maguire, Quality and Quality Assurance Ireland (QQI) Director of Integration; Daphne Carolus, Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) Policy Advisor; Laasi-Öige, Director of Tallinn School of Economics (Estonia), and Erik Swars, Head of International Affairs at Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET).
The presentations and the speech of Douglas Blackstock, ENQA President, mentioned that the Level 5 goal is to create similarity between countries, national and international institutions and agencies. In addition, it was emphasized that the European Qualifications Framework Level 5 is pretty new within the scope of the quality assurance system and accreditation work. Attention was drawn to the importance of creating such a system despite all possible difficulties for collaborations, flexible learning methods, new developments and gaining different perspectives.
The event ended with a questions-and-answers session following the exchange of ideas between the speakers and participants on the improvement and development of the quality assurance system in higher education.
