The Application Process for the 2023 Institutional Accreditation Program Has Started

A call was announced for 2023, and the application process was started within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program carried out by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC).

Higher education institutions to be included in the 2023 Institutional Accreditation Program will be determined after the applications are assessed by THEQC. With the Institutional Accreditation Program implemented for the first time in 2020, quality assurance works in higher education institutions have been taken to the next level, and 23 higher education institutions have been accredited within the scope of the program so far. The evaluation process continues for 30 higher education institutions included in the 2022 Institutional Accreditation Program.

For higher education institutions to be included in the Institutional Accreditation Program, conditions such as having been evaluated within the scope of the Institutional External Evaluation Program (IEEP), completion of the Follow-up Program, distribution of state and foundation universities, geographical distribution, number of accredited programs, and the status of being a research university or a candidate research university are taken into consideration.

The Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) process begins with the invitation of higher education institutions to participate in the IAP voluntarily and ends with the decision-taking stage performed by THEQC after some processes such as the writing of the Institutional Self-Evaluation Reports (ISERs) and site visits.

THEQC aims that all higher education institutions that have completed the prerequisites will be included in the Institutional Accreditation Program until 2027.
