Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President, Visits the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova
Prof. Muhsin Kar, the President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), paid a visit to the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova on 15 September 2022 to discuss joint cooperation opportunities.
The Turkish delegation consisted of Cengiz Güzeloluk, the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education’s Education Counsellor to Chisinau; Dr Resul Bağı, a Visiting Lecturer at Comrat State University (CSU), and Kudret Sefa Gümüş, the CSU International Relations Office Coordinator, accompanied President Kar, who met with Nadejda Velisco, the Moldovan Education and Research Minister’s Undersecretary, during his visit. Meanwhile, Ludmila Pavlov, the Head of the Policy Analysis Department; Lilia Parhomenco, the Director of Higher Education Policy, and Chiciuc Andrei, the Head of the National Quality Assurance Agency, accompanied Velisco, the Minister Undersecretary.
In the meeting, President Kar gave detailed information about THEQC and the quality assurance system and accreditation practices in the Turkish higher education system. In addition to the exchange of ideas for the development of bilateral relations, President Kar invited the Moldovan delegation to the “International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation” to be held in Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University by THEQC, with the cooperation of the Association of Quality Assurance Agencies of the Islamic World (IQA), the Education Quality Assurance Agency (TKTA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YODAK) of the TRNC, and the Mauritanian Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency (AMAQ-ES) between 20-22 March 2023 in Ankara, Türkiye.
Undersecretary Ms Velisco stated that they attached great importance to quality assurance and accreditation and thanked President Kar for his kind invitation. Mr Andrei, the Head of the National Quality Assurance Agency, emphasized bilateral cooperation, mutual learning, and experience-sharing.
