THEQC Student Commission Meets with İstanbul Arel University Students

The “Role of the Student in Higher Education Workshop,” organised in cooperation with the İstanbul Arel University Arel Youth Students’ Quality Society and the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Student Commission, was held on 20 April 2026, as an important event aimed at strengthening the role of students in quality processes.

Within the scope of the workshop held at the university, students had the opportunity to address the basic components of the quality assurance system in higher education with a practical method. In the working groups formed under eight different headings, critical areas such as student involvement, feedback mechanisms, course workload balance, curriculum updates, teaching methods, measurement and evaluation processes, academic advising, and alumni relations were discussed.

In the event, students were expected not only to evaluate the current situation but also to analyse the causes of the problems, redefine the student role, and develop applicable solution proposals at the institutional level. Each group shared the proposals they put forward as a result of the discussions through short presentations, producing concrete outputs regarding quality processes.
