President Kocabıçak Delivers a Conference on "Globalisation in Education and the Importance of Accreditations in a Changing and Transforming World" at Selçuk University
Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), visited Selçuk University to deliver a conference titled “Globalisation in Education and the Importance of Accreditations in a Changing and Transforming World”.
Coming together with university faculty members at the meeting held at the Selçuk University Senate Hall on 21 July 2026, President Kocabıçak delivered his presentation titled “Globalisation in Education and the Importance of Accreditations in a Changing and Transforming World”. Prof. Hüseyin Yılmaz, Selçuk University Rector, also delivered a speech at the opening of the meeting.
In his presentation, President Kocabıçak stated that there are 28 universities in Türkiye with full institutional accreditation, and one of these is Selçuk University Expressing that quality assurance in higher education in Türkiye is strengthening with each passing year, Kocabıçak stated, “Institutional accreditation is one of the fundamental elements not only of quality assurance but also of international recognition, student mobility, and global competitiveness.”
Noting that a new era has begun in higher education with artificial intelligence, Prof. Kocabıçak noted that the educational programs of universities must be updated in accordance with this transformation and that it is a necessity to integrate subjects such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity into the education system. President Kocabıçak stated, “By taking advantage of the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in all fields, from medicine to law, engineering to communication, we must make our educational programs suitable for the needs of today and the global world.”
