Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate to İstanbul Nişantaşı University, which was accredited within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program, at a ceremony.
At the ceremony held at İstanbul Nişantaşı University on 8 July 2026, President Kocabıçak delivered a presentation titled “Globalisation in Education and the Importance of Accreditations in a Changing and Transforming World”.
Making an evaluation regarding the future of higher education, Prof. Kocabıçak stated that quality assurance systems in higher education develop education, research, governance, and service to society processes with a holistic approach. Noting that institutional accreditation provides significant contributions in terms of international recognition, inter-university competition, global employment opportunities, and international equivalence, Kocabıçak stated that the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo on the diplomas of accredited programs strengthens the international recognition of graduates.
Drawing attention to the fact that digital transformation and artificial intelligence are reshaping higher education, President Kocabıçak pointed out the importance of universities developing education models suitable for changing skill requirements. He noted that AI-supported learning, personalised education, microlearning, lifelong learning, and skills-oriented curricula will be among the main topics of the upcoming period, adding that quality assurance systems are one of the most important mechanisms guiding this transformation.
Following the speeches, the Institutional Accreditation Certificate granted to İstanbul Nişantaşı University was presented to Rector Prof. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu by President Kocabıçak.
