The 2026 Quality Ambassador Training Program (QAP) Completed
The Quality Ambassador Training Program, carried out by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Student Commission since 2021 to ensure the effective involvement of students, who are one of the main stakeholders of higher education, in the quality assurance system, to disseminate the quality culture, and to help them gain competence in this field, was held this year with the participation of a total of 470 students studying in different higher education institutions and programs. The training program, which consisted of two sessions, was completed online on May 4-5 and May 14-15.
Within the scope of the QAP’26, Res. Asst. Sena Çatal, THEQC Student Commission Coordinator, carried out instructional design and the training and coordination of peer instructors. In the program, commission members Aybüke Büyüktunçay, Beyzanur Çam, Elif Turan, Esma Kazaz, Esra Solhan, İsmail Uzunel, Eda Eren, Hasan Ak, and Kadir Özkan, especially Fatma Derya Arıkan, THEQC Student Commission Chair, and Nur Sena Altun, Vice Chair, took part as peer instructors. During the training, the basic concepts of the quality assurance system, the structure and processes of THEQC, and the role of students in these processes were comprehensively conveyed to the participants. Thanks to its interactive structure, the program offered a learning environment that strengthened knowledge sharing and experience transfer.
Through the presentations and interactive sessions held throughout the program, it was aimed to raise the awareness of the participants regarding their active involvement in quality processes. At the end of the training, participants gained the basic knowledge and competencies to contribute to quality assurance processes in higher education, while being encouraged to take responsibility for disseminating the quality culture in their own institutions.
