President Kocabıçak Attends the 34th Council of Deans of Communication Faculties Meeting in Gaziantep
Visiting 4 HEIs in Gaziantep, President Kocabıçak Gave Conferences on Quality, Accreditation, and the Impact of Artificial Intelligence
Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), made a presentation titled “Quality and Accreditation Processes in Faculties of Communication” within the scope of the International 34th Council of Deans of Communication Faculties (ILDEK) meeting hosted by Hasan Kalyoncu University on 7 May 2026. The event, attended by 42 Deans of Communication Faculties, was highly productive with the panels held.
President Kocabıçak also visited Prof. Sait Mesut Doğan, Rector of Gaziantep University, in his office in the afternoon of the same day. Following the office visit, he made a presentation titled “Quality Assurance Systems in a Changing and Transforming World and the Importance of Accreditation” to the senate members at the Gaziantep University Senate Hall. At the meeting, Rector Doğan made evaluations regarding the university’s quality progress.
President Kocabıçak later visited Prof. Şehmus Demir, Rector of Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University (GIBTU), in his office. Following the office meeting, the program continued with a meeting held in the Senate Room of the university. At the meeting, where GIBTU Senate members were present, the institutional accreditation and quality cultural activities of the university were discussed in detail. President Kocabıçak emphasised that quality in higher education is not just a result but a continuous journey. Rector Demir also stated that they aim to raise a generation that not only produces knowledge but also blends this knowledge with technology and morals.
Finally, President Kocabıçak visited Prof. Güner Dağlı, Rector of Sanko University, in his office in Gaziantep. After the visit, President Kocabıçak gave a presentation titled “Current Developments in Quality and Accreditation and the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Education” to the university administrators and the Quality Coordination Office. The meeting ended following the question-and-answer session.
