THEQC Student Commission’s First Meeting of 2026 with New Members

The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Student Commission held its first meeting for the 2025-2026 academic year on 9 January 2026. The commission, which continues its efforts to help students internalise and disseminate the quality culture in higher education, made a solid start to the new academic year.

The meeting started with the opening speeches of Assoc. Prof. Songül Vargün, Commission’s Academic Coordinator, and Fatma Derya Arıkan, Commission Chair. During the opening part, the activities planned to be carried out in the new term, the goals set and the importance of students’ active involvement in quality assurance processes were emphasised.

Farewell to Members Completing Their Term of Office

At the meeting, the members of the commission, whose terms of office ended, were presented certificates of appreciation for their devoted work and valuable contributions to higher education quality assurance processes.

Meeting New Members

In line with the restructuring of the commission for the new academic year, to facilitate the adaptation of the new members to the process and to reinforce the team spirit, the new commission members introduced themselves with presentations titled “Who Am I?”.

The meeting ended with the discussion of the agenda items, evaluation of the new semester’s work calendar and mutual exchange of views after the introductory event.
