Self-Assessment Report of THEQC for 2024 ENQA Agency Review Is Published
ANKARA – The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) published its self-assessment report, based on the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education area, for the 2024 ENQA review. The report that analyses THEQC’s current status and developments was written to be submitted to the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and all stakeholders.
The report aims to assess THEQC’s compliance with the ESG standards and the agency’s strengths and areas for improvement. In particular, it addresses how the recommendations made in the previous reviews conducted in 2019 and 2022 were responded to and the improvements made in line with these recommendations.
The report, whose preparation process was started in January 2024 and completed in July 2024, was written by a working group including staff responsible for internal quality management processes within THEQC. The working group developed the report in line with feedback received from various stakeholders and the recent strategic plan works.
The report also elaborates on THEQC’s international activities and collaborations. The effects of the major earthquake disaster in Türkiye in 2023 on higher education, the measures taken by THEQC in this process, and the improvement works carried out are also included in the report. Information about THEQC’s various activities to disseminate the culture of quality assurance, such as giving online training, working to increase student involvement, and taking an active role in international projects, is highlighted in the report.
The self-assessment report to be used as a reference document for the site visit of the ENQA panel in October, aims to emphasise THEQC’s success in the field of quality assurance and its impact at the international level.
