
THEQC Attends the ENQA Members’ Forum in Georgia

YÖKAK Gürcistan’da Düzenlenen ENQA Üyeleri Forumu’na Katıldı
Prof. Mustafa Çufalı, Vice-President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), attended the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) Members’ Forum organised in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia.
Asst. Prof. Ayşegül Kozak Çakır, THEQC Academic Expert and International Relations Coordinator, also attended the Forum that took place on 19-21 April 2023. Focusing on the ongoing policy and practice development activities on quality assurance, the ENQA Members’ Forum shared the results of surveys collected from quality agencies to inform future development of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and quality assurance priorities on the way to the Bologna Ministerial Conference in 2024.
While meetings were held and presentations were made at the Forum, in which the core values of European higher education, such as academic integrity, academic freedom, and sustainability were highlighted as key issues, the participants also had the opportunity to share practices related to activities focused on improvement activities of quality assurance agencies.
The THEQC delegation had the opportunity to share information with the representatives of many quality agencies, especially ENQA, EQAR, TKTA, IQQA, ESU, QAA, AQAS, and HCERES, and also gave information about the developments in THEQC.
A General Assembly meeting, which is ENQA’s main policy and decision-making body, was also held during the Forum. In the General Assembly, where THEQC also has the right to vote as a member, the previous meeting notes of the Assembly, budget, and ENQA Board of Directors’ decisions were approved. In the same meeting, a new member was unanimously elected to a vacant ENQA Board of Directors seat.
