The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council's New Decisions About the Processes for Evaluation Programs
The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) made a few decisions regarding the universities affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake at the Council meeting of February 2023.
It was decided to determine, considering the declarations of will to be submitted by the universities’ governing bodies, whether to continue the processes of İskenderun Technical, Malatya Turgut Özal, and Sanko Universities, which had already been included in the 2023 Follow-up Program but are located in affected places, or not in the Council meeting held on 22 February 2023. The follow-up processes for the universities declaring their will to continue the process will be carried out in 2023. The follow-up processes for the universities preferring not to continue the process will be performed in the scope of the 2024 Follow-up Program.
Similarly, the process for Gaziantep University, included in the 2023 Mid-term Evaluation Program, will be carried out either in 2023 or 2024, considering the university’s declaration of will.
