Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President, Attends the 1st UNIKOP Students' Quality Meeting at Kırıkkale University
Prof. Muhsin Kar, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), attended “The 1st UNIKOP (Konya Plain Project Union of Universities) Students’ Quality Meeting” at Kırıkkale University.
The event started with the opening ceremony at Kırıkkale University’s Blue Hall. Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President; Prof. Osman Nuri Çelik, UNIKOP Term President and Rector of Konya Technical University; Prof. Ersan Aslan, Rector of Kırıkkale University; Prof. Ahmet Karadağ, Rector of Yozgat Bozok University; quality coordinator’s office members from UNIKOP member universities; students’ quality society member students of these universities; academic and administrative personnel, and students attended the event.
After the opening speech, President Kar made a presentation on “Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.” Talking about the history of the concept of quality in his speech, President Kar defined the concept of quality assurance in higher education. President Kar gave detailed information on subjects such as the purpose of quality assurance in higher education, the quality assurance framework of THEQC, the quality perception of the stakeholders, and the general objectives of quality assurance. Giving information about the establishment and activities of THEQC, Prof. Kar said that THEQC gave a series of training to ensure the quality participation of students in quality processes and that the main target of quality work was students.
After President Kar’s speech, Prof. Ersan Aslan presented his gifts to President Kar and other speakers. The event ended with a commemorative photo shoot and Kırıkkale Folk Songs Concert by the Kırıkkale Dervish Society.
