THEQC Conducts the Pre-Site Visit Training as a Part of the External Evaluator Training Program
ANKARA – The “Pre-Site Visit Training”, designed for the evaluators to be assigned to evaluation teams in the 2022 Institutional Accreditation and External Evaluation Program by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), was conducted.
The Pre-Site Visit Training, the third step of THEQC’s External Evaluator Training Program, was held online with the participation of 214 evaluators on 21 September 2022.
Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President, gave a speech at the opening session and stated that the training was organised to raise awareness about the conditions and problems that all teams going to the field might encounter, and thanked the participants.
Assoc. Prof. Salih Bardakcı, a THEQC expert, presented the details of the training activities. Emphasising the importance of corporate culture in quality processes, Bardakcı stated that THEQC would continue to contribute to Turkish higher education institutions in establishing the corporate culture. Bardakcı also explained the purpose, approach, and objectives of the Pre-Site Visit Training and ensured that the source documents and study materials used in the training were clear for participants.
The training, designed in two parts as morning and afternoon sessions, was held in sessions titled “SWOT Analysis”, “How to Observe?”, “Cross-Assessment” and “Question and Answer”. The participants, divided into groups, had the opportunity to share their site visit experiences by evaluating some fictional universities by considering the criteria through in-group studies and in-class discussions in all sessions.
