THEQC Assigns its New Student Member

Mehmet BORA is assigned as the new student member of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council where the students’ right to speak in the field of quality works in higher education is represented at the highest level.

The call for applications to the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council student membership has received great attention from the students. Through the application period (5-20 January 2021), a total of 312 students from 104 higher education institutions applied for membership.

An evaluation commission including five members from THEQC Students Commission was established to make a preliminary evaluation for the applications in accordance with the Procedures and Principles for the Assignment of Student Member of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council.

As a result of the preliminary evaluations made by the Evaluation Commission, 41 candidates were interviewed on 25 January 2021. Results were submitted to the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council to make a final decision among three candidates.

These three candidates were invited to the meeting of the Council on January 27, 2021, where they were given the opportunity to express themselves.  As a result of the evaluations made by the Council, Mehmet BORA (Istanbul University) was assigned as the member of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council.
