The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) based in Brussels, Belgium organized General Assembly on 22 October 2020, in which THEQC attended for the first time officially. During the General Assembly, THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas accepted the congratulations for joining the Association.
Addressing the General Assembly, Elmas stated that while creating a flexible, simple and dynamic structure that is compatible with the world, THEQC continues to work towards a perspective that incorporates local dynamics, adding that memberships in INQAAHE, CHEA and APQN have been completed in this context.
Stating that the Covid-19 pandemic has introduced new challenges around the globe, Elmas emphasized that the new conditions have increased the importance of accreditation and quality processes.
With its ecosystem consisting of 208 universities, Turkey is expected to play a critical role in ENQA, an umbrella organization that represents quality agencies in Europe. We would like to extend our thanks to our internal and external stakeholders who have devotedly contributed to membership efforts and wish the membership process to be beneficial to the Turkish higher education system.
