ANKARA – Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) continues its efforts to disseminate quality culture among higher education institutions. The Council organized an online training series addressing quality commissions of Turkish HEIs on 25-26 September, 2-3 October and 7-8 October, which has been marked as the most comprehensive training so far organized in the field.
A total of 600 participants were trained in the online training series, which was organized in 5 online modules and 10 virtual classes with 10 moderators who are expert in the field. A large number of rectors and senior administrators also attended the training series along with quality commission members.
Delivering a keynote speech in the meetings, THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas underscored that the mass digital transformation that is expected to take place in higher education during the 2030s has already started in the education sector due to the currently ongoing pandemic, and stressed the requirement of keeping up with this sudden change with the aid of digital competencies. It was also stated that many of the online methods employed in the training set an example to group and individual activities that might be organized in digital classes.
THEQC, which has recently published a comprehensive evaluation guide and additional documents on quality assurance criteria of distance education, continues its efforts to guide higher education institutions in terms of distance education, which is now a crucial component of the THEQC Institutional Evaluation Program.
