THEQC holds online meeting with directors of HEIs included in 2020 Institutional External Evaluation Program
ANKARA – Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) organized an online meeting with the directors of the universities included in the 2020 Institutional External Evaluation Program.
Attended by the rectors and the academics in charge of quality processes at the 13 universities included in this year’s institutional evaluation processes, the online meeting started with the exchange of opinions and experiences on the universities’ adaptation to the recent shift in learning and teaching practices due to the pandemic and their efforts to achieve the targeted learning outcomes. In his opening speech, THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas stressed that quality culture, motivation for change and agile leadership are particularly significant in times of crisis that lead to urgent changes in learning and teaching processes, adding that the primary goal of the Institutional External Evaluation Program is to contribute to the improvement of HEIs.
In the second part of the meeting, THEQC Vice President Prof. Dr. Sibel Aksu Yıldırım provided information on the stages of the program, experiences gained in previous years, expectations from HEIs throughout the process and mentorship practices. After Prof. Dr. Yıldırım’s speech, the participants were informed on the details of THEQC’s blended site visit method, which will be implemented for the first time this year as a combination of face-to-face and virtual site visit methods. The meeting ended following a Q&A session.
