Evaluator Training for Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Program is now available online through e-Learning Platform

ANKARA – The e-Learning Platform developed by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) was launched during the Team Leader e-Training organized on June 9, 2020 as part of the Institutional External Evaluation and Accreditation Program. THEQC’s training activities will be effectively conducted free from restriction of time and space with the e-Learning Platform, which has been designed as an online compilation of the Council’s approaches, models and contents employed in THEQC’s evaluator training.   

During the day-long Team Leader e-Training, case studies and evaluation simulations (review of ISERs, determining the questions to ask and whom the questions should be addressed, evaluation of the institution’s responses and drafting IFRs and IARs) were used with several modules including flipped learning, working group activities and discussion methods. THEQC Vice President Prof. Dr. Sibel Aksu Yıldırım, Assoc. Prof. Dilek Avşaroğlu, Assoc. Prof. Salih Bardakçı, Dr. Gonca Uludağ and CoHE Expert Ayhan Koçer were the trainers of the event. Prof. Dr. Buket Akkoyunlu and Assoc. Prof. Salih Bardakçı took on major roles in the teaching design of the platform while Faruk Altuntaş from THEQC’s IT staff significantly contributed to the technical infrastructure. 

At the closing session of the event, THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas received feedback from all the team leaders joining the training and underscored that agile leadership and digitalization are the key factors for the requirements of the “new normal”. He finally remarked that the Council finds it important to introduce flexibility to the training of team leaders in accordance with the current context.
