President Kocabıçak Presents Institutional Accreditation Certificate to İstanbul Ticaret University

Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate to İstanbul Ticaret University, which was accredited within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program.

Attending the certificate presentation ceremony held at the İstanbul Ticaret University Ahî Çelebi Campus on 7 July 2026, President Kocabıçak presented the accreditation certificate to Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Rector Prof. Necip Şimşek. Academic and administrative managers, as well as academics involved in quality processes, also attended the ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, President Kocabıçak drew attention to the transformation experienced in higher education and stated that artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability, lifelong learning, and skills-oriented education are now among the main agenda items for universities.

Noting that quality assurance processes are of critical importance for the national and international visibility of universities, he continued that universities must move beyond merely being knowledge-transferring institutions and equip their students with the competencies to adapt to the changing world.
