Members of the ESU Quality Assurance Student Experts’ Pool for 2025-2026 Announced
The European Students’ Union (ESU) has announced the members of the Quality Assurance Student Experts’ Pool for the 2025-2026 term. As in previous years, Turkish students achieved significant success this year by maintaining their high representation in the pool.
A total of 92 students from 30 different countries were accepted to the pool, whose quota was approximately 90-100 members, while the membership of nine students from Türkiye was approved. Thus, two students from Türkiye succeeded in becoming members of the pool in 2020, eight in 2021, ten in 2022, and nine in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
This success, with a strong participation including members of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Students Commission, increased Türkiye’s visibility in the field of international quality assurance and contributed to the more effective representation of our students in Europe.
Fatma Derya Arıkan, Students Commission Chair, and Kadir Özkan, Vice-Chair, were accepted as pool members for the first time this year, while Commission member Eda Eren’s membership was renewed by ESU for one year.
The membership terms of Furkan Duru, Berkay Tarım, Ece Alara Özdarendeli and Nurefşan Acar, former members of the Commission, were extended. In addition, Hilal Karaoğlan and Pelin Sidal’s memberships in the pool were continued for one year.
The training sessions, seminars, workshops, and student summits organised by the THEQC Students Commission so far have increased students’ awareness of quality assurance processes in higher education and enabled them to actively participate in the process. The fact that Turkish students have been regularly included in the ESU Quality Assurance Student Experts’ Pool for the last six years is considered a significant reflection of these efforts.
