


Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), attended a conference on ”The Importance of Quality Assurance Systems and Accreditation in Higher Education” as a speaker at Düzce University. At the end of the conference, President Kocabıçak presented the Institutional Accreditation Certificate that the university was entitled to within the scope of the 2024 Institutional Accreditation Program.
The governing body, academic and administrative staff, and students of the university attended the conference on “The Importance of Quality Assurance Systems and Accreditations in Higher Education” held at Düzce University on 12 May 2025.
Emphasising the importance of institutional and program accreditations at the conference, President Kocabıçak explained in detail what should be done to establish a sustainable quality assurance approach in higher education and to spread the quality culture.
Prof. Kocabıçak stated that in a changing and transforming world, human-specific skills, such as analytical thinking, flexibility, creativity and leadership, remained critical and that it became inevitable to develop innovative curricula focusing on areas, such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cyber security.
At the end of the conference, President Kocabıçak presented the certificate to Prof. Nedim Sözbir, the Rector of Düzce University.
