President Kocabıçak Speaks at the Hitit University Conference on “The Importance of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education”

Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), attended a conference on ”The İmportance of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education” as a speaker at Hitit University.

Prof. Ali Osman Öztürk, Rector of Hitit University, gave the opening speech of the conference organised at the university on 30 October 2024. Prof. Halil İbrahim Şimşek and Prof. Eşref Savaş Başcı, Vice-Rectors, the university’s governing body, and the representatives of quality assurance offices attended the conference. 

President Kocabıçak talked about issues such as the Turkish higher education quality assurance system, the activities of THEQC, quality assurance systems in the world and developments in this field. In his presentation, he provided detailed information about the institutional accreditation program, institutional external evaluation program, and mid-term evaluation and follow-up programs carried out by THEQC for higher education institutions in Türkiye, as well as THEQC’s evaluation criteria.
