THEQC and YODAK Gather to Develop the Quality Assurance System in Higher Education
ANKARA – Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President, and Prof. Turgay Avcı, YODAK President, had a meeting within the scope of the protocol signed between the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YODAK) on 30 July 2021, to embody the areas of cooperation and to determine the cooperation calendar.
At the meeting held online on 25 August 2022, Prof. Avcı gave information about YODAK, the higher education system in the TRNC, and the quality assurance studies carried out in universities. He also stated that it is strategically essential to implement an action plan developed with the experience-sharing and support of THEQC to carry the current quality standards and international recognition of higher education institutions in the TRNC to a higher point. Thanking THEQC President Kar and his team for their interest in joint cooperation works, Prof. Avcı stated that YODAK was ready for any kind of cooperation.

Drawing attention to the importance of quality assurance and accreditation processes, Prof. Kar, THEQC President, said, “It is extremely important to spread quality assurance culture in higher education institutions. THEQC completed its institutionalisation rapidly and has progressed significantly in establishment, internalisation and dissemination of a quality assurance system in Turkish higher education institutions. THEQC is always ready to share its experience in this regard and to support YODAK.”
