2022 Entry-level Evaluator Training is Successfully Completed
ANKARA – The Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) conducted 2022 Entry-level Evaluator Training online on April 18-19, 2022.
More than 300 candidate evaluators attended the training given for the evaluators to work in evaluation teams for higher education institutions in 2022.
Prof. Muhsin Kar, THEQC President, delivered the opening speech of the training program by expressing that the entry-level training is the first step of the evaluator trainings, and thanked candidate evaluators for their participation. President Kar made a presentation in the scope of the training program and informed the participants about the global trends in higher education, the changing environment in higher education and the national reflections of the changes, the quality assurance systems in higher education, the options about quality assurance in higher education, and the framework of THEQC’s quality assurance.
After President Kar’s presentation, Prof. Buket Akkoyunlu made a presentation titled ”The Institutional Evaluation Processes and the 2022 Entry-level Evaluator Training”, and Ayhan Koçer, CoHE Expert, made a presentation titled ”THEQC’s Understanding of Evaluation, the Rubric and Its Structure.”
The 2022 Entry-level Evaluator Training lasted for two days. Participants were divided into eight groups and had the chance to learn about evaluators’ duties through the simulation method. The training included information about the external evaluation process and its stages and activities such as case study evaluation, writing questions based on a fictional ISER (Institutional Self-Evaluation Report), and answering the questions. Participants had a competency test at the end of the training, and the training program continued with the conduction of a participant satisfaction survey. The program ended with the assessment and closing session.
