Previous and New Council Members of the THEQC Gathers

An information-sharing meeting was held with the participation of Prof. Erol Özvar, the President of CoHE

ANKARA – An information-sharing meeting was hosted by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), with the participation of new and previous council members. To ensure institutional memory and permanency, information and experiences were shared at the meeting that was attended by Prof. Erol Özvar, the President of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE), Prof. Muhsin Kar, the President of THEQC, Prof. Muzaffer Elmas, the previous President of THEQC, as well as the new and previous council members.

Prof. Özvar, the President of CoHE, took the floor and stated that CoHE follows the works of THEQC, which is a leading stakeholder at the focal point of works related to quality assurance in higher education, with interest and expressed their wish about increasing the works that have been carried out regarding the internalization of the quality culture in universities in recent years. 

The second part of the meeting continued with the exchange of opinions and information between previous and new council members. Prof. Kar stated that THEQC will continue its efforts to develop and disseminate quality culture in higher education institutions and to ensure the visibility of the ongoing institutional external evaluation program and other works also in the new term.

Prof. Muzaffer Elmas, who became the founding President of THEQC after its transformation into an administratively and financially autonomous body, conveyed his four-year presidency experiences and his views on the future of the quality assurance system in higher education.

The meeting continued with the presentation of plates of appreciation to Prof. Muzaffer Elmas and council members of the previous term that ended at the end of January 2022.
