Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of EU Delegation to Turkey, visits THEQC

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey Ambassador Christian Berger and his esteemed wife paid a visit to Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) on Monday, 22.07.2020, and met with President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas. Receiving information on the work and future vision of THEQC, Ambassador Berger expressed content over the establishment of an administratively and financially autonomous quality council, and congratulated President Elmas for THEQC’s membership in ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education). Furthermore, Ambassador Berger stressed the importance of the Quality Council in aligning the quality assurance systems of Turkish universities with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) as well as their communication and cooperation with the universities in Europe. 

Berger wished President Elmas and his team success in this challenging task, and confirmed the EU support to such an important Council, responsible for quality insurance systems of Turkish universities.
