THEQC Completes First Stage of “Mentorship System” Meetings
The THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ELMAS, THEQC Vice President Prof. Dr. Tuncay DÖĞEROĞLU, THEQC members Prof. Dr. Tuğba YANPAR YELKEN, Prof. Dr. Aslıhan NASIR, Prof. Dr. Sibel AKSU YILDIRIM, Prof. Dr. Sina ERCAN, Council Advisors Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilek AVŞAROĞLU ERKAN, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuba CANVAR KAHVECİ and Specialist Ayhan KOÇER provided mentorship service to 45 higher education institutions that will undergo institutional evaluation throughout 2018.
During the meetings held in August as part of the Mentorship System introduced this year, it was underscored that the mentorship system aims to guide the institutions participating in the institutional evaluation program, help structuring the institutions’ internal quality assurance systems, and contribute to the dissemination and internalization of quality assurance culture in higher education system.
Within the mentorship service, the higher education institutions were informed on quality and accreditation processes and guided on how to exercise their education, research & development, and administration activities in line with quality procedures. The meetings highlighted the necessity to specify the higher education institutions’ future plans, the formation of an administrative culture in line with the objectives, the management of quality processes in accordance with institutional values and objectives, the adoption of a notion of continuous learning and improvement by establishing the required technological infrastructure and the aspects to take into account during the institutional evaluation visits.
Furthermore, “The Institutional Evaluation Criteria and Institutional Evaluation Guide”, which has been published by the THEQC, provides guidance to the higher education institutions in practicing the Institutional Evaluation Program.
