President Kocabıçak Attends a Conference at Munzur University

Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), attended the conference titled “Globalisation in Education, the Impact of Artificial Intelligence, and the Importance of Accreditation in a Changing and Transforming World” as a speaker, held at the Munzur University Congress and Culture Centre. During the program, the Institutional Accreditation Certificate awarded to Munzur University was also presented.

Prof. Kenan Peker, Munzur University Rector, the university administration, academic and administrative staff, and students attended the program held on 13 October 2026.

Drawing attention to the global transformation in higher education during his speech, Prof. Ümit Kocabıçak stated that artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity contents should be integrated into the curricula of all disciplines. Noting that human-specific analytical and creative abilities have come to the fore as artificial intelligence assumes many tasks, Kocabıçak emphasised the importance of communication, digital literacy, foreign language, and entrepreneurship skills.

Pointing out that accreditation plays a critical role in terms of international recognition and quality assurance, Kocabıçak provided information on THEQC’s activities and evaluation mechanisms, particularly the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP).

At the end of the conference, the Institutional Accreditation Certificate of Munzur University was presented by President Kocabıçak to Rector Peker. The event concluded with a commemorative group photo taken to mark the day.
