The Inaugural Issue of THEQC's Academic Journal JAQAHE Has Been Published
The Journal of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (JAQAHE), the academic journal of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), has been launched with its first issue.
Aiming to contribute to the mission of internalising and disseminating the quality assurance culture within higher education institutions, JAQAHE has been designed as a significant academic platform that supports the production of scientific knowledge in the field of quality assurance.
Quality assurance in higher education represents a holistic approach that encompasses institutional decision-making mechanisms, stakeholder involvement, evidence-based improvement, the continuity of academic and administrative processes, and institutional learning capacity, going far beyond mere evaluation, accreditation, reporting, and compliance processes. In this framework, JAQAHE aims to provide an academic contribution to the development of a quality culture in higher education.
The journal intends to enhance the visibility of scientific studies regarding quality assurance systems, accreditation, institutional evaluation, internal quality assurance, quality culture, higher education governance, digital transformation, data-driven monitoring, and international quality assurance approaches.
The inaugural issue of JAQAHE features studies focusing on current topics such as artificial intelligence, datafication, quality culture, sociotechnical governance, and micro-credentials. These studies demonstrate the importance of addressing quality assurance not solely in the context of compliance with standards, but through the axes of ethical governance, transparency, accountability, participatory leadership, digital transformation, and sustainable institutional development.
THEQC invites all researchers who wish to contribute to scientific production in the field of quality assurance to submit their work to the upcoming issues of JAQAHE.
