THEQC develops software to support establishment of internal quality systems in universities <\/h3><\/span><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

THEQC organized a series of meetings to introduce the program evaluation software it developed with the aim of improving and strengthening the internal quality assurance systems of universities. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

The software, which was developed by the Council with the aim of helping universities establish their own internal quality systems, was shared with 15 universities (Ankara University, Ankara Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m Beyaz\u0131t University, Akdeniz University, Artvin \u00c7oruh University, Ba\u015fkent University, Beykent University, Bolu University, Giresun University, Kocaeli University, Marmara University, Medipol University, Sel\u00e7uk University, Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Uluda\u011f University and Yeditepe University) for pilot study. With this software, the universities can monitor their programs by their own criteria and make evaluations. They also can gain experience about the processes of program accreditation by observing their programs\u2019 qualifications, strengths and areas for further development.\u00a0<\/p>

THEQC President Prof. Dr. Elmas said: \u201cA necessity to develop a software that will help establishment of internal quality assurance systems in universities emerged when the external evaluations were completed. This much-needed software was developed by our Council and brought into the service of universities. For a strong quality assurance system, it is necessary to develop knowledge-based management systems and make the evaluations of the programs. Accordingly, we want universities to set their own models by considering the developments around the world, the objectives of our country and the capacities of the institutions. The most important feature of this software is that it enables self-evaluations and external evaluations of universities\u2019 associate degree, undergraduate and postgraduate programs through a knowledge-based system. Criteria at every level will be determined and monitored by universities. Designed pretty flexibly, this software can be adapted to all universities and programs.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

THEQC Vice President Prof. Dr. Sibel Aksu Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m emphasized that the data uploaded to the system would strengthen institutional memory and incite the institutions for program accreditation; adding that the system would make quality processes more visible and this visibility would accelerate endeavors for improvement.\u00a0<\/p>

It was also stated in the meetings that the program evaluation software would be shared with all the universities in two months.\u00a0<\/p>
