{"id":38795,"date":"2021-05-20T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yokak.gov.tr\/?p=38795"},"modified":"2025-02-20T14:41:43","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T11:41:43","slug":"a-meeting-with-the-senior-administrators-of-higher-education-institutions-and-national-accreditation-agencies-has-been-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yokak.gov.tr\/en\/2021\/05\/20\/a-meeting-with-the-senior-administrators-of-higher-education-institutions-and-national-accreditation-agencies-has-been-held\/","title":{"rendered":"A Meeting with the Senior Administrators of Higher Education Institutions and National Accreditation Agencies has been held"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"38795\" class=\"elementor elementor-38795 elementor-37010\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6566a224 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6566a224\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42603f5 thim-ekits-heading-text-left elementor-widget thim-ekits-heading elementor-widget-thim-heading\" data-id=\"42603f5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"thim-heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"sc_heading text-left\"><h3 class=\"title\">A Meeting with the Senior Administrators of Higher Education Institutions and National Accreditation Agencies has been held <\/h3><span class=\"line\"><\/span><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5bacde94 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5bacde94\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c1da52c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c1da52c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span title=\"\">An information meeting was held on 6 May 2021 by the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) for the leaders of higher education institutions that will be included in the Institutional External Evaluation Program (IEEP) in 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">In another meeting held on the same day, the 2020 findings of the Follow-up Program were evaluated with the participation of national accreditation bodies authorized by THEQC.<\/span><\/p><p><span title=\"\">THEQC President Prof.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Dr.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">The meetings, which started with the opening speeches of the President of THEQC, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, were held online.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span title=\"\">&#8220;There is a tendency towards institutional accreditation in the world&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span title=\"\">THEQC President Prof.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Dr.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Elmas, drew attention to the innovations in the field of higher education in the world; Elmas said, \u201cTHEQC has established a system that complies with the criteria accepted by the whole world, it also takes into account the circumstances of Turkey\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Emphasizing that there is a change of perspective in the world in the field of higher education, Prof.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Dr.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Elmas noted that it has become important to foster competence for everyone and to educate individuals who take into account the ever-changing competencies. Prof. Elmas added that academicians should be prepared for more than one competence.<\/span><\/p><p><span title=\"\">Referring to the efforts to increase the quality in higher education, Prof.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Dr.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Elmas stated that universities in Turkey do not have a problem in planning and perspective, and that there are shortcomings in implementation and following-up of results.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Stating that the global trends in the field of quality assurance in higher education have shifted the focus of the quality assurance works from program-based work to institutional application and evaluation methods, Prof.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Dr.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">Elmas continued as follows:<\/span><\/p><p><em><strong><span title=\"\">&#8220;We want to establish user-friendly systems in our universities&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p><p><em><span title=\"\">\u201cWhen universities establish their quality assurance system correctly, they can apply for the Institutional Accreditation Program.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">The institutional accreditation goal is not about the age or background of the institution, but about structuring quality assurance processes.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">We do not want to tire the institutions, we want to look at the established systems from an outside perspective.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">From now on, the external evaluation processes that we will employ, especially those that involve new universities, will be a guide for the relevant institutions.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">The reports will provide guidance and will not involve judgment.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">After each evaluation, we hold meetings with the rectors and administrators of our universities on this matter.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">In order to better understand the institution, we move forward by continuously changing and correcting our criteria, provided that the basic principles remain the same.<\/span>\u00a0<span title=\"\">We want to establish simpler and more user-friendly systems in our universities. &#8220;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Meeting with the Senior Administrators of Higher Education Institutions and National Accreditation Agencies has been held An information meeting was held on 6 May 2021 by the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) for the leaders of higher education institutions &hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":37016,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[193],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-38795","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
